Still Engineerin'

Still going strong at KPTV.  Lots of changes, upgrades, new people, new technology.  Seen lots of friends leave, some voluntary, some not.

Do people still use this blog?
Didn't google buy it?

Go away!

all good things...

Feb. 2007: Ignite took over cameras at KOIN
Feb-Sep: Me unemployed
Sep 2007: Hired at KGW for graphics operation
Early 2008: Run cameras for KGW
Late 2008: Economy goes into crapper
Feb 2009: Laid off due to Economy
Feb-Sep: Me unemployed again

Oh, and now KOIN, KATU, and KPDX are all ignite run stations. I'm pretty sure KGW will be within a year or two. So no TV jobs for me in Portland anymore unless I get directing experience AND Ignite training.

Goodbye Portland. It's been fun.  Look's like I'M going away...

7 months!

Wow, 7 months since my last post.  See?  Told ya I was lazy.  Anyway, In the KOIN world, I moved on from Chyron, to audio for a good long while, and now I am on cameras.  The new ignite system is now running the morning, noon, weekend, and 11:00 shows.  The only shows left that are actually run by a real crew now are the 5, 5:30, and 6:00 shows on the weekdays.  But soon those will be taken over as well.  I now work mornings.  As in 4 AM to 9 AM.  My sleep schedule is all fuxxored up.  I don’t think I have much time left at KOIN, as I believe cameras are soon going to be run by the Ignite system sooner than later.

Hooray for technology!
Hey, you, get out of here!

mysterious me

W00t! First post!

Wow, I always wanted my own blog, now here it is.  Hooray for me.  So, let's see, what kind of boring stuff about my life can I post, that nobody really cares about?  Ah.  I know.

Today, I ran the Chyron Infinite at KOIN all by myself for the first time.  I did better than when I was training, I guess there wasn't the added pressure of someone watching my every move, just waiting for me to fuck up.

There, I bet you really wanted to know that didn't you?  Why are you even here?  Did I give you the link to this blog or something?  Cause that's really the only way you could have found it, other than random blog searching.  Go away.
